Ihosy community garden measures around 100 m2. Its soil has a yellowish color and is relatively fertile which requires constant attention and maintenance on nitrogen fixation. This is carried out with only natural methods with cultivation like potatoes and beans. Since the plot is in a hilly area, there was specific training on techniques and organization of the crops to make best use of the land.
Various vegetables are cultivated; carrots, onions, zucchini, tomatoes, cabbage and cauliflower. Fruit like papayas and peanuts are also grown.
For both the fertilization and protection of the soil (from parasites) natural methods are used.
