Boukhobza Fig

Boukhobza Fig is a native variety of Djebba fig (Ficus carica L). Its fruits are dependent to multiple fruit category. The trees are growing up to 3–5m tall with large leaves, its fruits are small with 3–4 cm diameter and Its colour is greenish yellow with sweet taste containing numerous crunchy seeds.
Djebba is home to many figs varieties which makes this small village unique. All the fig trees are cultivated by lineage according to the rules of a customary law specific to the village.
Boukhobza Fig is growing in heights of Mont el Gorrâa in Tunisia, located at an altitude of 600m, the communities have shaped this mountainous landscape to their advantage by integrating agriculture on terraces created by natural geological formations.
