This school garden covers about one acre and is located in the rural area of the village of Temoyetta, in the Keringet district. The school has about 300 students, 50 of them (aged between 15 and 20) are involved in the garden activities. The land has been divided into small, more manageable parcels, where different crops are farmed. The varieties which grow on this muddy soli include beans, potatoes and other local vegetables. The harvest is used to complement the meals served at the school cafeteria. The school would like to organize training events agricultural management, crop diversification, water supply, weed control and the use of compost. In addition, it would like to obtain the necessary materials for the vertical garden system, as well as tools and seeds to integrate their crops with indigenous varieties, and tanks for water collection.
