Ranomafana is a small village immersed in the green, at the edge of the national park which goes by the same name in the Fianarantsoa region (south-east Madagascar). The community garden, surrounded by the forest, is particularly lush thanks to the fertility of the volcanic soil and the abundance of water. Coffee plants and banana trees – which already grew on the area which is now the village garden – are now accompanied by beans, soy and corn.
The community has joined the One Thousand Gardens project to receive training on composting techniques and on vegetable and fruit tree farming methods.
