The garden is located in Nakisunga village, Kyabalogo parish, Nakisunga sub county, Mukono district. It was started in May 2014. Pupils in different classes are working on the 1-acre garden. They grow crops like coffee, bananas, passion fruit, and sweet potatoes. The seeds are provided by parents, however, there is also a seed bank at the school. The different seasons present various challenges to the crops in the garden.
Compost from decayed plant material and chicken manure are used to fertilize the garden.
They dig terraces to reduce soil and water erosion and use dry mulch to cover the garden. Trees were planted around the garden and razor wires passed through them to protect it from intruders. The harvest is usually consumed by pupils and teachers at the school.
