There are about twenty young gardeners in the group, and they are very active as market vegetable growers. They used to use chemical fertilisers and pesticides to produce large harvests. After obtaining information on agro-ecology, the group members decided to experiment with the new approach proposed by Slow Food. A part of the produce is destined for markets, and the rest for consumption. The garden covers 320 m2.
Produce grown includes courgettes and tomatoes, among other vegetables. These products are only used for family consumption. Most of the group gardeners have working cattle. The sub-products are used to fertilise the soil, which had been degraded over the years, even though it had lain fallow for a long time.
