The Soltani Abiadh fig is a native variety of Djebba fig (Ficus carica L). These fruits are dependent to multiple fruits category. The trees are growing up to 5–7m tall with large leaves. Its fruits having yellow colour, pear shape with 4-5 cm diameter and long-curved neck, its taste is very sweet with crunchy seeds.
Soltani Abiadh fig is growing in heights of Mont el Gorrâa in Tunisia, located at an altitude of 600m. It is drought resistant variety, and is hardy adapt to the environment of Djebba. It fructifies all autumn long, between August and late October.
The local community is producing, processing it in traditional way, and using in both dried and fresh for their own consumption. However, it is also used in traditional meals like Couscous or Sasma.
This variety of Djebba fig is threatened by genetic erosion.
