The Shanghai Earth market has been opened officially the August 8th, 2020.
The market take place in the ChangNing 长宁区 (cháng níng qū) sub-district, a broad area of 38.3 square kilometers with a population of about 700,000 people.
The ChangNing District hosts the Shanghai Zoo and the Zhongshan Park and there’s a direct connection with the ZhongShan Park metro station, served by three Metro Lines (2,3,4). The location can be reached by Metro in 30 minutes from Hongqiao airport and Hongqiao railway station and in 12 minutes from the Metro of People Square. Furthemore, there is a bus station adjacent to the MetroTown.
The market is INDOOR, on the ground floor of the MetroTown mall, that is already hosting a Social Enterprises market once a month and includes several small shops and a few restaurants.
The products and produces sold at the Shanghai Earth Market are Good (local, genuine), Clean (no pesticides should be used, and only organic fertilizers are allowed) Fair (directly sold by farmers at a fair price).
At the market is possible to buy fresh and seasonal food, from fruits and vegetables to duck eggs, herbs and teas (also, the Slow Food Ark of Taste Yellow Tea). There are also artisanal sweets and pastry such as rice cakes, ginger products and biscuits.
