The community is located in Kabarisa village, Katuna Town Council, in Kabale district. There are 20 active members working in the garden with 10 males and 10 females. It was started in 2013 with a half acre. They grow different crops like Irish potatoes, beans, several greens, eggplant and onions.
They practice crop rotation in their garden and plant spacing to reduce pest infestation and crop competition in the garden, and they mulch depending on the needs in the garden. A thorny, live fence is used that keeps out animals.
They get early production through the daily harvest of greens and fruits that are so essential to human life. Some produce is given away to the needy, and some of the surplus is sold to the community. This is how they earn quick money through the growing of their crops. Some of the income is used to hire a few temporary labourers in case they are too busy with their other work.
