This 65 are garden is found in Mongbwalu, Bwasoya-Abelkoso in Ituri Province. The garden is managed by 15 people, including 7 men, 6 women and 2 children.
The garden is found in an old village that was abandoned in 1961. The Ituri Slow Food Convivium organized a group of people to cultivate cassava, bananas, plantains and peanuts in this area, after having explained the concept of Slow Food.
The garden also has aloe vera, lemon grass and avocado trees. The soil is naturally fertile and pests are fought off with all natural pesticides like tobacco powder. The produce is used for personal consumption.
