Adegbenjo garden is located at the Orile–Owu farm settlement, Via Ikoyi, in Osun state. The garden coordinator, Mr Adegbenjo is a retired public servant, eco-traveler and business man. He has solidified his passion for good and healthy food by creating his own garden. He has said that, “For food security, everyone must have a garden”. He has thus adopted the Slow Food garden philosophy to produce good, clean and fair food crops for public consumption. Though the garden is located on fertile land outside the city, he still prepares organic manure, compost and sometimes brings poultry droppings from his poultry farm to fertilize his vegetable gardens.
Some of the most important varieties of crops grown on his 5 acre garden are potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, watermelon, soy beans, maize, cassava, pineapple, tomatoes, pepper and others. These products are for sale at the various local markets in suburban villages.
