Situated within the urban environs of Alaba Kulito, a town in south-central Ethiopia, this large school has approximately 1,000 students. The school garden was launched as part of the Thousand Gardens project in 2011 and has been established on the flat terrain of the school grounds. Both boys and girls are participating in garden activities, cultivating the main crops of the area – maize, wheat and a red pepper – and various local vegetable varieties.
