Matteo Mugelli


Born in Florence in 1979, Matteo Mugelli has been a member of the Slow Food Foundation Board of Directors since 2013. He is owner of Torre Bianca, a historical family estate that produces Chianti Classico and Vinsanto wines, and in 2005 also opened an olive oil mill. Mugelli specializes in techniques of extra-virgin olive oil extraction and tasting, as well as the design and installation of experimental machinery for olive harvesting.

He is a founding member of the Associazione Internazionale Ristoranti dell’Olio and lecturer on the regional project, “Vetrina Toscana.” In 2014 he took part in a mission to Pakistan with the Italian Development Cooperation (DGCS) and the Istituto Agronomico per l’Oltremare (IAO), to provide technical consultancy to local communities on oil mill management.
