The Sacchi family, owners of Life in Sommariva Perno, in the province of Cuneo, in the northwest Italian region of Piedmont, sell dried fruit from various parts of the world, but, at the same time, are committed to promoting the biodiversity of their own local area and its producers.

In conjunction with the Slow Food Foundation, they have launched a project to reflect upon the nutritional characteristics of various ingredients. At Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre 2014, they presented a bar made with local produce, including crushed PGI Piedmontese hazelnuts.
