Teo Musso, founder of and brains behind the Baladin craft brewery, has always been a member of the Slow Food network.

In 2012 he launched a special collaboration that gave rise to the first 100% natural cola. The principal ingredient of the beverage is the Kenema kola nut, a Slow Food Presidium set up in Sierra Leone, the home of the kola tree. Baladin buys the nuts directly from the Presidium producers and allocates part of its sales to the Slow Food Foundation’s activities in Sierra Leone (gardens and other biodiversity protection projects).
