Sorrento Lemon

Ark of taste

It is a medium-large sized lemon, common in the Sorrento peninsula and on the island of Capri (in the province of Naples), elliptic in shape, with an extremely perfumed, bright yellow peel and a particularly juicy and acidic pulp. Its yield strongly relies on weather conditions, in particular from wind and cold. This is why, during the coldest months of the year, lemon trees are protected with straw mats hanged over the trees with the support of wooden poles. The covering with so-called ‘pagliarelle’ causes a late ripening, typical feature of this variety. Sorrento lemon is highly appreciated and world-renowned, with a constantly hihg demand throughout the sale season.
