Rams have robust spiralled horns, while ewes generally do not have any. Once appreciated both for its fleece and meat quality, today Sopravissana sheep is endangered of extinction. Native of the area surrounding the municipality of Visso, it later spread through Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio, Umbria and Tuscan Maremma.
