Carnival Ravioli

A sweet treat produced during the period of Carnival (February). The shape of this is like a little log of puff pastry. The filling is similar to that of the traditional bread cake, but without pine nuts, with the addition of cheese of the appropriate affinage. The stuffed pastry is fried in seed oil and eaten hot.
